I was able to spend a long weekend in San Francisco with two of my greatest girl friends. I'm pretty sure I want to live there! It was so amazingly beautiful with an abundance of things to do and places to eat. We went to Fishman's Wharf, the Museum of Modern Art, the Yerba Buena gardens, the De Young museum and the park and gardens next to it. My legs were a bit sore from running around twelve hours a day, but I would happily do it every day. Anyway, pictures are worth a thousand words, so look at these. Shar

Where did that come from?
Our old house here was pretty close to the train tracks. Naomi would always run in fear with her ears covered when she heard the train coming. The house we currently live in is a bit further away so the train sounds rather distant. The other day Naomi was looking out the front window when she heard the train whistle. Instead of running from it, she just glared and yelled, "Shut your mouth Thomas!"
My sister and her husband were over visiting. Brett was downstairs playing with the girls and Leah was "making him dinner." Brett ran and hid in a closet. When Leah called to him to come out for dinner and he wouldn't, she yelled, "Come out now or I'll ram it in your ears!"

The Media Influence
I had Naomi in the back seat as I was picking up Leah from preschool. As always happens, there was a long line of cars waiting to get into the parking lot. I was expressing my frustration at the situation when I heard a little voice pipe up from the back, "I know what will work...TEAM WORK!" (From The Wonder Pets)
When I asked the girls what they wanted for lunch, Leah surprised me by saying she wanted soup. So I pulled out a can of soup and Leah asked, "Is that Campbells Chicken Noodle Possibilities?"

It sounds like...
I always get a kick out of the pronunciation of some things the girls say. A few of my favorites are...
Hand cuffs.....Ham cups
chapstick........Cabbage whips
Bruise.............Bruce
Family Home Evening.....Family Home Eating
Movie Theater.....Movie Feeder
Mousse.....Goose
Thermometer.....Vermometer
Wedding Veil.....Wedding Whale

"blogging etiquette"
I have been informed by my more experienced "blogging" friends that I needed to update my blog every day...twice!) Well, I can pretty much promise you that won't happen, but I will throw out a great quote by the girls or experiences as they happen. And this is my solemn promise.

Somewhere over the rainbow...
Yesterday I was relaxing on the couch, enjoying the peace and quiet of my daughters playing quietly together downstairs in their room. A fleeting thought prompted me to check on these sweet little angles...just to witness the magic of the moment. I quietly peeked into their bedroom only to find every wall decorated with sidewalk chalk rainbows. Leah and Naomi were frantically scrubbing at their mural with baby wipes and toothbrushes. You wouldn't think that sidewalk chalk would be too hard to clean up, and on it's own it probably isn't. But I'm lead to believe that there is some magical reaction between between the two that turns chalk into a permanant solution. (The walls are also very textured, so that added another "dimention" of difficulty to the whole project). So after two hours of scrubbing I finally accepted the reality that we are just going to have to paint the whole room. At least they didn't burn down the house.
so this is where the world is...
Through my daily interactions I continue to hear the word "blog" and always pretend that I know what they're talking about. I finally decided to keep up with modern communication trends and roll up my sleeves to dive into this "blog". So here we are, freezing in Idaho, but keeping in touch with the rest of the world. I hope as I chronicle the happenings of our little family you will be entertained and feel closer to these beautiful girls (including me of course!)
